There's a new theme park in the Caribbean that is likely to excite resort visitors and cruisers alike.

Katmandu Punta Cana opened this past week after much anticipation from visitors and even locals in the Dominican Republic. On its website and social media pages, Katmandu touts itself as a "one-of-a-kind theme park with family-friendly attractions and immersive media-based entertainment."

Along with a variety of culinary options, Katmandu boasts several attractions including a "High Point Adventure" rope and obstacle course, adrenaline course, virtual reality thrill rides, water attractions, and miniature golf.

The park is located adjacent to the Cocotal Golf and Country Club and less than a mile from several popular beach resorts.
