Day 4 of CruiseNReview's ChristmasNTheCaribbean stops in Bridgetown, Barbados
As a reminder, these blogs are one day behind our actual cruise. So you may see content on our stories and posts from one stop and then the blog be from another place. This is done so I can give you a full recap of our entire day in full. So I'm writing this after a beautiful day in St. Lucia, but today, we talk about day four of our cruise, which is my favorite port of call in the world, Bridgetown, Barbados. We'll cover St. Lucia tomorrow
Since the first time I visited, I have always loved Barbados. Particularly, I have loved Carlisle Bay beach. We knew when planning our group cruise that we had a real opportunity to take our guests to some of our favorite beaches in the Caribbean.
CruiseNReview arranged transportation to Harbour Lights beach club on Carlisle Bay so we could have a Bajan beach bash at my favorite spot. Harbour Lights features a bar, restaurant, activities, beach chairs, and umbrellas all for very affordable fees. It's a short $5 per person taxi ride from the port and there are plenty of taxis waiting to take you back to the port when you are ready to return to the ship. The staff is very friendly, the drinks are affordable, and the atmosphere is vibrant and fun.
Carlisle Bay has calm, clear water that is perfect for hanging out with a drink. No big waves, you can see the bottom, and the sand is soft and pearly white. It's consistently rated one of the top beaches in the Caribbean and certainly the top beach in Barbados.
Everyone of our crew loved the beach, which always makes me happy when someone loves it the way I do. We had drinks, lunch, and plenty of time in the water that more closely resembled a swimming pool. We spent nearly eight hours at the beach since it was a nice long port call and everyone was enjoying the atmosphere and beauty. We caught our ride back and took the short 10 minute ride back to the port.
Once back onboard, we went to a terrific show in the Red Room theatre called Mind Mangler. It was a unique blend of intentionally poor magic tricks and comedy. The show was hilarious and very well done.
We had pre-dinner drinks at The Rock bar before heading to dinner at Pink Agave. It's Virgin Voyages' Mexican restaurant. The food and service was amazing, as expected. Our group enjoyed virtually everything on the menus as our waiter ensured our group got the taste of the restaurant. They even had a specialty menu for the holidays that I have picture below:
Here is a look at the full menu so you can get a better idea of the options. I highly recommend the corn:
I'm so happy that our group is having such a great time on this cruise that we have loved for so long to the Southern Caribbean. Everyone is really getting along great and making friends. We saluted another great day in the Caribbean with some shots before we turned in to rest up for another big day. Barbados Beach Bash was a success.
Coming Up Next!
Day five of our ChristmasNTheCaribbean hosted group cruise takes us to St. Lucia. Our group will be taking a catamaran sailing to the see The Pitons so the views will abundant on this volcanic island.
