Day Three of CruiseNReview's ChristmasNTheCaribbean hosted group cruise is a relaxing day at sea.
Since we booked this itinerary, I thought this was a well placed sea day on this Voyage. Day three of our ChristmasNTheCaribbean hosted group cruise onboard Virgin Voyages' Resilient Lady was a sea day.
After several days of travel, exploring San Juan, beach hunting in the British Virgin Islands, or racing to the meet the ship (for some of our crew), I think everyone was ready for a relaxing day at sea.
Everyone took their time and did their own thing to start the day. Some of our group, myself included, took part in a table top shuffleboard tournament. The bad news is; I'm terrible at shuffleboard and my partner, whom I had just met at the tournament, found out my secret in the first match, in which we were eliminated. The positive is that a member of our group won the tournament! Everyone on the ship now knows the CruiseNReview crew is not to be messed with.
After that, our group met up for the Holiday Cabaret show in the The Manor. If you sail on Virgin during the holiday season, you can count on plenty of themed events that you can only find on select sailings. This event was one of them. As I stated in previous blogs, their entertainment is different, but high quality, funny, and well executed every time.
Myself and a few other group cruisers headed to another show right after that called "The Boy Band Experience." I don't feel a need to explain this show a ton because it's all in the title. I will say that it is was excellent and started in the 60's and worked its way through the evolution of boy bands. Others in our group elected to skip this show for obvious reasons.
There was definitely something to do for everyone on our sea day. It was great to explore the ship and take things easy since this would be the only sea day on this cruise. It was a great mix of activities and rest.
Everyone reconvened for pre-dinner drinks at the Wake View Bar before heading to dinner at Extra Virgin.
Extra Virgin is Virgin Voyages' Italian eatery boasting upscale Italian cuisines and a versatile menu. The service in this restaurant was impeccable and everyone of our guests found something they liked and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I snagged a picture of the menu so you could take a peak:
Again, there is more detail about how dining works onboard Virgin Voyages in my earlier blog on this cruise that you can see a link to at the bottom of this article.
Dinner time was 9:15 pm so after dinner it was around 11:00 pm so our group headed to their staterooms to rest up for our next day.
Coming Up Next!
Day four is next and its a day I can't wait for! We will be stopping in Barbados for a long port call. As part of their package, our clients have a private beach day in Carlisle Bay, my favorite beach. We'll have a ton of details on this in tomorrow's live blog.
