6 Reasons To Use A Travel Agent for Your Next Vacation

In the DIY era of life that we are in, allowing someone else to do ANYTHING for you may seem contrary to the culture surrounding you. This is the thought of many when it comes to booking travel. Why would anyone let someone else book or plan your vacation when the internet exists, and all this information is at your fingertips? The answer is pretty straightforward, and I will explain why we think using a (good) travel agent will enhance your traveling experience.

This will be told from the services we provide through CruiseNReview as an associate of Cruise Brothers and does not necessarily reflect the reality of using another agent.

It's Free!

That's right! It costs you nothing to consult with or book your trip with a travel agent. We are paid by the companies we book with. Our agency receives a commission if you book a cruise/hotel/resort vacation. This commission is not added to the price of your trip; it's part of the fees already included. If you don't use a travel agent, that fee goes back to the vendor. While travel agents don't get commission on certain portions of travel, we are happy to provide these services free of charge to clients booking the rest of their trip with us. It should never cost you more money to book with a travel agent. You get expert advice and service with no additional risk or cost.

You will likely get a better price.

While we typically book trips directly from the vendor, just like you would if you went to the company's marketing website, our agency has group rates, booking engines, and exclusive deals that might not be offered or easy to find for the general public.

Having someone shop for you is a huge perk of using a travel agent. We'll look in every nook and cranny to find the best deal possible, including some places that might not be available to you as a consumer.

You can still have an active role in planning your vacation (or not).

I've heard many say that they enjoy the process of planning their vacation and want to take advantage of that part of the experience. Using a travel agent does not remove you from the planning process if you don't want it to.

We can do all the work, some of it, or very little. Booking with us means you can access our support and knowledge throughout planning and traveling. Some clients have us find them a great rate and book the trip, and they want to do the rest. Others want us to do it all. Most are somewhere in between. Booking with CruiseNReview means you have unfiltered access to us anytime you need us. Heaven forbid something goes wrong during your trip; you know who to call to help sort everything out.

We are here should issues arise.

I referenced this briefly in the above paragraph but want to dive into more. If you travel enough, issues will arise. It can be scary, stressful, and aggravating to deal with delays, interruptions, and problems that pop up during your vacation. Booking with a travel agent gives you a partner to help you deal with these scenarios.

During a disruption, one phone call to your agent can save you time and stress. We can represent you to the companies you are dealing with, re-book flights, hotels, etc., and make sure that all is good so you can get back to having fun as soon as possible.

A good travel agent will also help you steer clear of issues that might lie ahead, including common mistakes travelers make. Make your problem our problem and move on with your trip.

We can help you see the big picture.

Each person has a goal for vacation. Whether it's relaxation, adventure, culture, or food, when you think of a trip, there's something you want to achieve. Sometimes, achievement comes in a different form than what you imagine.

To get started planning your travels, we will ask you many questions about what you are looking for in a vacation. Often, we will find a destination that the traveler needs to learn about that fits them better than they initially thought they wanted. For example, someone who likes quiet relaxation, trying new cuisines, and enjoying cultural enrichment can do something other than a 4-day Carnival cruise. Likewise, someone who wants to party, stay up late, eat American food, and star in the belly flop competition doesn't need to sail on Viking Ocean Cruises.

We'll find a fit for you that you didn't even know you needed in the price range you want to pay. Our goal is always to broaden your horizons when it comes to travel and find outside-the-box trips for those who need help finding where to look.

We'll add to the excitement and anticipation of your trip.

We get excited for our clients trips. We love talking about traveling the world and so as we approach departure, you are going to get a personalized plan detailing the your itinerary, making suggestions, and giving you important details about your travels. For cruises, each client gets a complimentary welcome aboard gift on their first day with a custom note from your friends at CruiseNReview.

Travel is the silver bullet to so many problems. It's our passion to provide advice and serve as a catalyst for our clients to see the world, experience new cultures, and make new memories with their loved ones. Therefore, we are going to help you make those memories by enjoying every moment. From planning, to traveling, to lounging on the beach, it's all part of the experience.
